Meet The Bible Study Secretary

Can you please introduce yourself sir (level, department, state of origin etc.)?
My name is Louis, a student of the department of economics Lagos State University, Ojo. I am a native of Ishan in Edo State and also the bible study secretary RCF (Redeemed Christian Fellowship) Lasu Ojo.
You said a lot about yourself, what are your hobbies?
My hobbies are travelling, reading and thinking
Thinking? Please elaborate more on that?
I love thinking, sometimes being alone and brooding over a lot of things, it helps me to be creative because am more of a mind person.
Do you consciously get in the act of thinking or it just comes naturally?
I just discovered that especially when am alone, I just get into that mood and of course it’s a  constructive mode of thinking not just being lost in thought, in fact some of those thinking moments have birth songs, books .
What is your driving force/motto as a Christian?
One major thing that keeps me going is the fact that I have to an extent understood the vision that God has placed ahead of me and so it makes me believe that the greatest injustice I would do to myself is not allowing myself get there and that’s why most times I do not look at others around me, I just look at that picture ahead, even when am sleeping, when am relaxed it just kind of pushes me. That’s just one major driving force, Like recently I have been singing a song, “I’ll be what you called me to be” for days, in fact weeks.
A lot of people admire the way you dissect and break down the word of God,I would like you tell us how you study your bible?
In studying my bible, Sometimes I get inspiration in areas to read and study ,and then I just know that the Holy Spirit wants me to dwell along this line, so I go ahead into that line and when am there especially when am relaxed, either very early in the morning or very late at  night , sometimes I stay  and I want to take every word for  word, every sentence for the sentence and I want to get  exactly what it’s talking about literally and the in the process of getting it literally, I try to ask myself questions based on those things I am getting to see literally, I draw a picture of them imaginatively in my mind and sometimes questions pop out and when questions pops up,sometimes the answers come in revelations and because sometimes you just don’t have answers to such questions like that. Sometimes it can be really just funny, sometimes I read and I take my time by reading letter by letter, I take note of the comma’s, the full-stop’s ,the phrases and all of them.
As the Bible study secretary, how would you advise brethren that find it hard or difficult to flowwith the study of God’s word?
Two important factors that comes to play when you want to study God’s word and enjoy it, not just studying alone but even get revelations in it. When I study and I have not truly gotten a revelation, to me I have not studied at all. Until I get something that Is not just obvious in that scripture, I won’t say I have really studied
and if I don’t get what I know am supposed to get, I won’t feel okay . So such people I would advise that when they study, one very important factor that would need to consider is nose, noise not just outside now but noise from within. In fact, sometimes you can shut out the noise that is outside but it might even be more challenging to shut the noise from within  but sometimes some things just pop up from your head and you are just all engrossed and suddenly while you are studying something in the scripture, something that happened might just pop up in your head or what someone said to you , maybe an admiration and you just start smiling, instantly you are shut out from what you are studying and before you know you just remember that you were studying a scripture and before you come back it would have flown.. So you must be able to shut out your mind from wondering, that’s the key. Secondly, there can’t be any effective study of the word without the Holy Spirit because the bible says “The letter killeth but the spirit give life”Take note of every word because every word has a meaning, from now you should know that there is no mistake in the bible, every phrase, every sentence. So take note of every little details.
That’s a lot well said, moving to your normal life, what are the things you don’t just like naturally?
One major thing I don’t like is insincerity, I don’t like having anything to do with people that are cunning, and they just repel me. when someone tells me about an issue, the next moment he’s talking about it with a totally different story and I am hearing something different from people, I just refrain myself from such persons. I also dislike greed!
People have the opinion of you having quite a strong personality, charisma, nice carriage and a wonderful smile, but we would like to hear from the horse’s mouth, what do you like the most about your personality?
I have never really thought about that,I just know that I like who I am but even if I can figure out one particular thing that I like about myself is who I am, those who of you who say the smile, I can’t say about that because some persons say I don’t really smile and am hoping that somehow God would really help me on that but I just like the way God made me, Though some people have complained about something’s but  what I do is that I come to check myself and  I adjust myself and God has really helped me. The One that am sure of that God has helped me really is the ability to put smile on people’s faces when they come around me,I think God has given me that grace.Sometime you see persons that their faces and you are like wow, you have to cause a miracle to make them smile,be at peace and at rest. But suddenly we get talking and before you know it they feel relieved. I still spoke to someone about some days ago and the scenario played out and it was wonderful.
It has been identified that you are a lover of songs and you enjoy worship, who’s your favourite gospel artist?
It used to be don moen but I wouldn’t say it’s no longer him but I would admit that some persons have joined the list like micahstamplin, that fellow thrills, I see his passion, his desire for God is thrilling and the I also love Michael W. Smith .
What about your favourite song?
I don’t have a favourite song, seasons tend to choose the song especially what God is doing at that particular time chooses the song.
This next question is a funny one, what would you never be caught doing?
I need to think about that a bit. You know, there some things that if I just answer rashly, I’d be answering from my own thinking with my strength, if not I should say ah I shouldn’t be caught probably having sex or i shouldn’t be caught robbing someone. I think I don’t not want to be caught denying Jesus and I would never be caught. I have come to an understanding and I have told myself that I would rather just die that deny Jesus.
For someone to really have a deep understanding of Christ to the point of death must have quite a salvation story, please can we hear it?
The funny part is that my salvation story is not that spectacular so to say, you hear people that say well I just met someone who introduced Christ to me and then this happens and I started it. I just know that I gave my life to Christ probably over ten times because I was always moved by a powerful message, a powerful sermon and I would rush to the altar, but there was a particular time I knew that now I think we are on a good lane. The funny things is that because of the many times I gave my life to Christ,I can’t hold on a particular historic date, it even got to a point I had to ask my pastor if I have truly given my life to Christ and he answered me that of a truth, I have really given my life to Christ but I was still struggling with some sins. I just know that there was  a particular time, and it was at the camp which was around 2005-2006, that was when I really knew because after that point, there was this assurance that yes, am a child of God.
